Matthew Ross\, Executive Director of The Botanic Garden at Historic Barns Park\, will present on the historic Northern Michigan Asylum and how its transformational ideas established the principle of “beauty is therapy”. Phil Douglas\, Director of Horticulture and Center for Global Initiatives for Denver Botanic Gardens\, will present on the implications of habitat destruction and the role botanic gardens play in conservation efforts\, guiding us from the subtropics to the grasslands.

During this session\, singer and guitarist Michelle Marti will be leading songs about the wonders of starlit nights and moonshine. You and your child can tap\, sing\, and jingle along\, with the help of a plethora of percussion instruments and toys in this age appropriate music class for young children accompanied by a parent or caregiver. \n\n\n\nMs. Michelle of ShooBeeLoo Music is a musician\, educator\, and performer. She has been leading children and their parents in music classes since 2007. Born and raised in Australia\, Michelle has traveled the world playing music and learning about a variety of cultures. Through her classes\, “Ms. Michelle” introduces children to a broad spectrum of musical genres and experiences. She teaches music at a number of preschools and community centers throughout Central Indiana.
