The inaugural Teter Farm Fest is scheduled for August 4, 2024 from 4-7 pm at Teter Organic Farm in Noblesville, Indiana. The festival includes live performances by Indy’s premier Stray Cats tribute band, Naptown Hepcats and the Center Stage Vintage Guitars All-Star Jam featuring Lovesick Moan.
Teter Farm Fest is a fun, educational and action-packed event for the whole family. The festival includes: a pre-1980s classic car show, hand-guided horse rides for children, food trucks, beer garden, chicken chats, Run for the Honey 5K, and a petting zoo with heritage farm animals from Conner Prairie. Educational opportunities include interactive booths exploring bees, seeds and invasive non-native plants. Cut flowers and local honey will be available for sale onsite.
The mission of Teter Farm Fest is to raise funds to support Teter Organic Farm’s mission of increasing access to healthy food for the food vulnerable and providing ecological education while building community.
Proceeds benefit Teter Organic Farm’s mission to curb food insecurity and connect the community with local, organic food systems. Approximately 90% of Indiana’s food is imported (Indiana Grown, 2015). According to Feed America (2019), roughly 26,000 Hamilton County residents are food insecure.
In 2023, Teter Organic Farm, a USDA certified organic farm, donated 40,0000 servings of produce and thousands of eggs to food insecure residents in Hamilton County. Teter Organic Farm grows more than 40 varieties of mixed vegetables on eight acres of the 120 acre farm along the White River.
Teter Organic Farm also offers interactive farm tours, wagon rides, a unique retreat center and guided hikes. Ecologically educational programming presents a fascinating look into the invisible life of plants, information on organic farming, soil health and composting and discovering the connection between farms and the food we eat.
