The Taylor Center of Natural History welcomes back Erik Vosteen for two days of replica woodland pottery making and firing in celebration of Indiana’s Archaeology Month.
Join us the first day for an all-day workshop where participants will construct their own clay vessel using hand dug “wild” clay as well as traditional tools and methods under Erik’s guidance. Participants will then return the next week to ground fire their vessel to take home. This is a great program for anyone interested in cookware made with natural materials, pre-colonized ceramics, archaeology, and traditional ceramic processes.
Space is limited, so sign up early! Program is best for older children and adults.
